1 ½ sweet potato
2 eggs
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup evaporated milk.
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp allspice
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp nutmeg
1/16 tbsp of melted butter
1 pie crust
Topping:(optional)
Whip Cream
Dash Cinnamon sugar
Equipment:
Medium bowl
Large bowl
Measuring spoons
Liquid and dry Measuring cup
Fork/knife (to test the pie if cooked)
Mitten/cloth
Tips: before making the pie
Crack an egg in a small separate bowl, one by one (and pour each egg in the mix), because you don't want a bad egg in your mix, because you will have to mix another set of new ingredients.
Use a fork/knife to poke along the edges of the pie if it comes out clean and ready to come out of the oven.
When mixing the sweet potatoes separately with a mixing machine take the strings out, sometimes the strings get on the whisk attachment, so rinse those off.
Directions:
Wash sweet potatoes then dry them. Add foil wrap onto a baking pan then place the sweet potatoes on top. Poke holes around each sweet potato using a fork or a knife. Bake or roast the sweet potatoes at 350 degrees for 1 hour 30 min.
While the sweet potatoes are in the oven; in a medium bowl add sugar and eggs then mix. Then add evaporated milk, salt, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla, and nutmeg then mix till combined.
When the sweet potatoes are done, let the sweet potato pie cool off for 30 min. Then peel the sweet potato skin off. Put the sweet potatoes in a large bowl, mash them with a fork, then mix with a mixing machine and take out the strings. Then melted butter then mix.
Add the liquid mix(that has eggs, sugar, allspice, etc) into the sweet potatoes mix. Mix until combined.
Pour the mix into the pie crust, and bake at 375 degrees for 45-60 min. Then use mittens or a cloth to take the hot pumpkin pie out of the oven when it's done; place a foil wrap on top of the pie and let it sit for an hour to cool.
Topping: (optional) You can add whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top.
